The Weekly: Week of July 7th, 2019
A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR DOUGLAS
Hello Bridge Church Family and Friends!
I hope that ya’ll had a Happy and safe 4th of July celebrations!
I got a chance to enjoy one of favorite hobbies – smoking ribs. I enjoy every aspect of the process, its therapeutic for me. My favorite part is watching our kids lick their fingers with bbq sauce smiles plastered across their faces.
There’s something about taking raw meat and turning it into a finger licking, smile producing meal. Each week as I work to create our Sunday message, I essentially go through the same process I use to make ribs. I take a passage of scripture and turn it into a meal for our whole church to enjoy. Just like with making good ribs, it takes time to produce a good sermon. When I say good, I’m talking about a clear simple message that has a direct call to action.
There’s nothing better than playing an active role of helping you know the God of the Bible more. I look to worshiping with you this Sunday!
This Sunday Briley Penner, BFC’s Pastoral Resident will bring the message. Pray for him as he prepares the message for us. Ask the Lord to give him clarity of thought and boldness to effectively preach.
JOIN A TEAM!
Been attending the Bridge for a while? Why not serve while you’re here? We have opportunities for you to serve based upon your gifting and availability. Current opportunities: Bridge Kids, Greeter, Parking, Hospitality, Production, Worship Team.
Currently 60% of Raleigh’s total population is unsaved. We’ve set a goal to play an active role in winning 1% of the total lost population to Jesus. We used the past 2 Sundays explaining and equipping our church to go out and make disciples. Pray this way:
For the Lord to bring us opportunities to share the Gospel
Courage to proclaim the Gospel
For those that hear the Gospel to turn to God and join a solid local Church
