The Weekly: Week of July 14th, 2019

BFC exists to BRIDGE people back to God through the Gospel. Everyone needs God. Connecting people to God is what we do.

How often do you look in the mirror? I’ll be the first to admit that I rarely slow down long enough to consider the man I’ve become. Why? Because I’m always on to the next thing. Even in the midst of writing this update, I’m already thinking about my next sermon outline. This past Sunday, I got a chance to peak in the mirror while our Pastoral Intern Briley was preaching. I was reminded of how far I’ve come since I preached my first sermon back in 2008. For those of you who knew me then thanks for your prayers and grace.

God has grown me immensely. I never thought I would be preaching and leading others for a living. Looking back is a good thing. It reminds you of God’s active grace in your life and it gives you courage to trust God with your future. If you’re like me, a person who rarely looks in the rearview mirror, let me encourage you to do two things:

  1. As often as you pray, thank God for what he’s done for you (small, big, past, current or present).

  2. Slow down and actively recognize God’s grace in your life. In other words, stop and smell God’s grace.

Much Love,
Pastor Douglas

We’re returning to our study of Genesis, Sunday we’ll be looking at our hearts. Our hearts are the seed bed for our actions, everything we do initiates from our hearts. We need to make sure that our hearts are weed free and fertilized with God’s Word. Pray for Pastor Douglas as he prepares for Sundays message. Pray for God’s Word to work on him first and then have its way with the entire church.

This Sunday is communion Sunday, even now take some time to consider Jesus: the life He lived, what He did on your behalf, Your freedom from sin, and the connection you now have with God through Jesus (1Corinthians 11:17-29).

All believers are welcome to join us at the “LORD’s Table”!

This past week Briley Penner, our Pastoral Resident shared a message from Ephesians 3:1-21 entitled, United in Position. If you were unable to be with us, you can LISTEN HERE →.

In Matthew 9:37-38 Jesus and His disciples are confronted with sheer number of lost souls. Jesus responds by praying to Father God, asking for more workers (Gospel proclaimers) to be sent to the lost. Our constant prayer is two-fold:

  1. Pray for us to equip and send out more Gospel proclaimers (existing and new peeps) to help win the lost in Raleigh

  2. For those who get evangelized to turn to Jesus immediately and join a Gospel centered church.

Father God we are trusting you, we believe you planted us here in South-Central Raleigh to do the work of winning souls for your glory. All that we do, we do for you. Equip us, empower us, embolden us, and bring Gospel sharing opportunities our. And once we hit our goal of winning 1% of the total loss, we’ll keep going. To you be the glory! Amen!

We appreciate your prayers and we delight in being able to pray for you. Let us know how we can pray for you, by CLICKING HERE.
